AND have skeleton friends.

hello hello hello!

i hope you are well and have found a safe place to hide from all of the horrible things happening in the world.

What can I do when there are all of these horrible things happening? make dolls. hope to bring a smile to someone. it’s pretty lame, but its all I have in my toolbelt.

And here are my new little batch of friends who help keep me sane. They have been so lovely and amusing sitting in my workshop, gabbing, plotting, planning, causing mischief, all in a language that I don’t understand.

It started out with Rosie

Rosie. makes all the mischief.

I have a teeny tiny makeshift pond in my backyard, and Rosie is inspired by the mama raccoon that visits and brings new batches of mini-rosies with her every summer. Some of the babies are more rascally than others, and I’m imagining that the rascally nature comes from mom. Did I already tell you that I made a little swing for Rosie’s babies to play with? I did. they played on it. I almost died.

Imogene. She has a beautiful, tiny whistle that sounds like the wind.

This is Imogene, and she has such a beautiful soul, and even more beautiful little whistle. It’s very, very hard to hear, but if you’re lucky, and the wind is just right and the world is quiet, you can hear it

Frances, gentle and quiet

Frances is so, so quiet. You can barely hear her, you barely notice her. She doesn’t want to be noticed, she hates attention . “Then why is she wearing that polka dot skirt?” I hear you ask. And I answer you thus: her mom bought it for her.

Jools. the trouble you kinda want.

Jools is an instigator. She’ll act very innocent, but she fools absolutely no one. Her favorite thing to do is scout out cool hats for Cleo to steal. It takes days, there are not a lot of hats in the forest.

Cleo will swear that she didn’t steal that hat, but you know she did. All of these friends live way, way deep in the woods, and they can mostly get away with whatever they want. Like hat-stealing. That doesn’t make it right, but then again- it’s a really cool hat.

Netta, dainty.

Netta is super dainty and she loves tea and cakes and whispering. She’ll go along with whatever, but rough-and-tumble, stealing adventures are not what she really wants to be doing with her day.

The Skeleton Sisters were made with so much care and love. All of their tiny bones are wrapped in linen strips or linen threads, they just came alive in my hands. They are are dressed in antique fabric so sheer and lovely, so you can still see all of their bones.

These dolls will all be in my shop tomorrow, Friday May 10th at 12 pm EST.

The first group of dolls (Rosie and compatriots) will cost $325 each.

Skeletons: Daisy and Poppy are a little larger and will cost $450 each, and Olivia, who is the little sister costs $425.
