Hello!
So, I was in Brooklyn last weekend for the Morbid Anatomy Flea Market. I was hoping to have time to write a little bit about that before the show, but oy! I was a frantic madwoman and did not have a spare minute.
The Flea itself was lovely and located in the beautiful Church of the Ascension in Greenpoint.
My pal, Marianne Petit was also there with her amazing pop-up books.
I sold a great big bunch of dolls and things, but alas, it was only 6 hours, so I also came home with a few friends. I will put these friends into my shop tomorrow at 12:30 pm EST.
Here’s a sneak peek.
I have three anatomical dolls that I carved from wood. They each have little wood intestines that can be removed, which reveals little painted ribs and spine. I only make one or two of these a year, and normally, they are sold exclusively through Morbid Anatomy, so this is a bit rare. And Morbid Anatomy does *not* ship overseas, so if you don’t live in the US and have wanted one of these dolls, now is the time. They each lay in their own handmade coffin, which is lined with dried moss and flower petals.
Eight little Unfortunates will also be in my shop.
These little fellas are hand-carved from wood and lay in their little coffins made from antique salvaged wood. They are inspired by the little dolls found in a cave in Scotland in 1836. I hid one in Brooklyn, and was so happy that folks took time out of their day to hunt all over for it- and it was eventually found! that was so much fun- I will definitely do this again.
There are also some wee demons, and a wee demon house!
And one little Pumpkin Dearling came home all by herself. She seemed lonely, so she now has a little demon pal in a sack
Also, the Dear Death booklet, has had a second printing, so I now have some in my shop for the first time. Again, Morbid only ships to the US, so if you’ve wanted one of these but live elsewhere, you can now actually purchase one!
We may also be putting some new prints in the shop, so be sure to check for those as well.
Doing in-person events is something I wish I could do more of, but time and $ do not really allow. After having an out-and-about year in 2023, 2024 will most likely see me selling my stuff mostly online again.
Also, for anyone who is on Substack, and follows their twitter-but-nicer feed, Notes, I have written my first one and may write more from time to time. It’s kind of nice being able to just write a few sentences and share some photos.
So, once again, tomorrow, Friday September 22nd at 12:30 pm EST, new pals in my shop!
I hope you’re all well and enjoying nearly-Autumn!
