Hello everyone!
Starting tomorrow at 12 pm EST, my friend and art pal, Melanie Wesley, and I are having a (virtual) show called, Colloquy. You can check out all of the art that will be available to purchase here.
We’ve wanted to do a project together for quite a while, and this one has been brewing since last year. It started with … ‘let’s do a show!’, to ‘let’s each make little villages!’ to ‘let’s connect the villages’ to ‘oh, wait, there’s actually a story! (and everyone dies)’
You can read the whole story on the Colloquy page if you’d like.
Here are some images from the upcoming collection.
The Children of Colloquy are ‘Topsy Turvy’ dolls. This means that when you gently turn the doll upside down, a new doll emerges. I have a demo video of this on the Colloquy page and on my Instagram, if you’d like to see. All of the dolls are quite large (approximately 30 inches from head to the bottom of their coverings) and have spells that are whispered from the Babas stitched on to their blankets
.
Horse and Wagon were a really interesting challenge to work out. Between hand carving Horse and working out axles and wheels … i just love having a new thing to figure out.
My part of the collection is the story of the children as they leave home on a very, very cold night. Melanie’s part is what happens to the children’s home, dolls and toys that are left behind.
Melanie and I did a little live Q&A today and you can watch that on her Instagram.
Also, I was recently interviewed by Byrne Power for his puppetry channel, Gravity From Above recently. We talk dolls, puppets, what is creepy? and of course, Death. It was a really interesting conversation.

I invite you to all come and check out our show!
Everything will go on sale as soon as the show starts tomorrow, Thursday December 1st, at 12 pm EST.
